The Great American desert is free real estate for solar and wind power. Plus other badlands across the country. Your cynical pessimism and allegiance to the big oil gougers and polluters is disgusting. Of course we can do this. Along with other methods we can kick oil within 15 years. Brazil did it. They are not oil-free in terms of automobile power. And they've ridded themselves of pollution in their cities too. Beware people who tell you America can't get off oil and dirty power. They are the villains, people. They are the ones we can no longer trust.
