I'm going to be disappointed if Q doesn't get some compensation for their IP in GSM

jackmore--The more I look at the claims and couterclaims, the more I believe the matters between NOK and QCOM will be settled out of court. The details may never be made public, but that doesn't mean that it won't be a huge win for QCOM. Typically when a party to a lawsuit knows it is going to lose, the party looks for some face saving way out, meaning that the terms of a settlement are kept confidential.

I would not be at all surprised if NOK ends up paying the same royalties paid by everyone else, and in addition pays for unlicensed infringement of QCOM IPR for GSM. If the agreement terms remain confidential, it would not be surprising for QCOM to continue its already stated policy of buying back more shares.

So shareholders will see some very good results stemming from such an agreement, even if the results are hidden in other accounts, such as licensing fees and royalties.

>>As a Q shareholder, I'm going to be disappointed if Q doesn't get some compensation for their IP in GSM.<<

And QCOM does have some responsibilities to its shareholders in these areas. And someone needs to stick it to Nokia so that in the future they will realize consequences for any bad faith actions.
