EW ultimately sees the world as a one way street... the very long term trend is always up. Even very large "corrections" in the end will consist of "threes" - or combinations thereof.

Interestingly, the fact that it is difficult to see impulsivity in the 2000-02 SPX decline additionally complicates things in the sense that there doesn't HAVE to be a matching move down. The '02 bottom may have been the low of a Wave "A" -- or, it it would also be entitled to be the low of the entire correction. This is not my #1 view, but it's possible.
