Actually you are right about the CO2 concentration found in strong correlation with higher temperatures and ice melting based on the ice core probes checked so far.
No one disputes that.

What is up to discussion right now, however, is what comes first here.
The chicken and the egg question so to say.
Less ice means more moisture in the atmosphere, which according to 50% (+/-5%) of the scientists increases or decreases the greenhouse effect.

Furthermore, compared to historical data ages ago, the current CO2 concentration isn't very high at all.
Only this time - and this time only, right? - be it man made.

The usual hubris by man. After the first nuclear bomb trial in the Nevada desert rumors were around that man may finally have succeeded in creating a crack through the globe.
