Ok, then where has the CO2 come from? "God works in mysterious ways" doesn't cut it. This isn't the 16th century when we didn't have a great deal of understanding about how the universe operates.

Who knows? Only recently the Antarctic CO2 scrub effect theory related to rapid conversion of bottom and surface water in the Antarctic came up. Only proves how little is understood about the possible roots of the CO2 level swings.
With that said, the source of CO2 isn't that important as long as we don't know for sure how and to what extent CO2, one "culprit" component of several adding up to a complex system, affects global temperatures.
