I asked Math.

" Don't know Math. Why does Brinker lie?"

Math replied:

"He probably does it because he thinks it's in his financial interest."

That is of course likely true, but it seems that we both have seen Brinker as Don Lane on SI lie with not so obvious an effect to his bottom line. The STII whopper comes to mind. It was as if he "had to be right and the market had to be wrong". Indeed I think that mentality was what kept him so crazy about holding on as the QQQs plummeted. As you see on the radio, the guy is critical of everyone (that is almost literally true). Beyond his crass marketing selective memory or outright bs, he seems to have to have others think of him as all knowing on all subjects, whether it be super bowl outcomes or stocks or fed policy or market predictions. He cannot stand not to be the all knowing leader and expert beyond peer in nearly every arena.

I think that desire to be percieved as "special" leads him to lie as much as your opinion that Bob Brinker likely lies to feather his financial nest. What we agree on is that Bob Brinker lies.
