David Ignatius wasnt as nearly optimistic and he has been an excellent reporter on iraq.
BTW and for the thread, Wesley Clark when pinned down by Neil Cavuto said he was against cut and run and said we must try for a good outcome. A lot of folks on this thread keep quoting Wesley but ole Wes has taken a diametrically opposite view to kerry, and murtha. Of course ole wes has a habit of parsing words to cover all bases. He was particularly unimpressive how he submitted to cavuto when he started out as the anti-war guy.

"Did you read the article : "The chances of success are good, if we give ourselves time to succeed," says Abizaid.

Thats the General on the ground. You dont want to let the professional do their job do you ?"

The "Generals on the ground" have been spouting the administration "stay the course" line for more than THREE YEARS now! If they don't, they're fired or retired! How many "corners" have we got left to turn in Iraq?

"Results 1 - 10 of about 5,620,000 for turning the corner in Iraq. (0.47 seconds)"
