I think the data are pretty clear that we should be on a cooling trend. And that we probably were on one with the Little Ice Age. So some CO2 release isn't a bad thing, given the social dislocation and famines that a cooling trend would bring. However, having it much warmer than it is now also would have a similar effect. Some balance must be struck.
