"Have you read his April 2000 newsletter where he recommends NEW mutual funds for his subscribers to put their 1999 IRA money into? The fund he recommended for conservative folks is down about 50% last I looked... It could be higher with dividends, but it was clobbered. I don't remember if they were ever mentioned again since the stocks in those funds started to tank right after that recommendation."

I see seven funds that he recommended for that purpose, but only one of them was new, which was the international fund. He kept it on his recommended list for a while and then replaced it with another international fund. The conservative one was a utility fund, and he eventually recommended switching that money into a balanced fund after two years of 20% annual losses. The others were in his model portfolios, except the GNMA fund which he still recommends, so yes, they all were mentioned again.
