I can't speak for Math, but perhaps he's referring to the fact that this guy never got a bulletin from Brinker that suggested that anyone put 50% of their "stock market funds" in Qs, let alone any retired investor. He suggested up to 50% of cash reserves (meaning the 65% of portfolio converted to cash earlier) for "those interested" in the trade, and only for the most aggressive of investors. This whole retiredinprescott story is suspect at best, not to mention old, as is the argument.

"I think Retiredinprescott should be informed that you are calling him a liar so he can defend himself."

If he's the person we're talking about, please do. I would be very interested in knowing how he justifies his claim that Brinker recommended 50% in QQQ for retired investors.

And oh by the way, for some reason you still haven't answered this question: When you adopted my old screen name from 101, were you hoping people would think you were me?

I noticed that when did that, you even sounded like you weren't particularly anti-Brinker for a while. That didn't last long though.

"Shortly after I retired I got Bob's bulletin to put up to half my stock market funds into QQQ 'immediately.'"

math said:

Why do people lie like that? Brinker never told retired people to adopt aggressive objectives.

fahrenheit responded:

<<I think you have a lot of nerve calling this gentleman a
liar."

--Do you think "Ernest" was telling the truth? Do you think he really got a bulletin telling him to put "up to half" of his "STOCK MARKET FUNDS" into the QQQs?

The e-mail has "brinker basher" written all over it. I don't think a person who was not familiar with the internet anti-brinker campaign would use terminology like "up to half" (instead of 20% to 50%), or use the word "immediately," which is basically irrelevant to Ernest's supposed point.

And, once again, the real bottom line is that if he had followed ALL of brinker's advice, he could not possibly have had his retirement ruined.
If he followed only part of it (the wrong part) and not all of it, then he can't really blame brinker, can he?

But Ernest is not a real person anyway. I wish you good luck in getting ahold of him. LOL.
