Yes, it is an excellent concept. And Brinker advised something like that when he said to Mary (paraphrased) "why does it have to be all one thing, why does it have to be black and white?". She wanted a "yes" or "no" on the idea of selling all Qs as opposed to total stock market gains. He's advising her that she might think about a more balanced approach which she apparently hadn't thought of.
