Good info, John...Thanks! The parking rates here in Seattle are very high, we think. And this list does confirm it. $24 for 5 or 6 hours at the Seattle Library to park, is just too expensive. And most days, time doesn't permit an extra 2-3 hours to go via bus (including time waiting at bus stops)... Thank goodness for branch libraries, and the internet to help with research. The $22-28/charge in Seattle is from 6hours to 24 hours... The per hour charges can be as much as $6-7/hr... That means the parking charge is a HUGE not-so-hidden tax added onto whatever one purchases. If the parking is that expensive for an employee to park while working, it is a HUGE amount of their salary that is taken from the salary. For the people who work at WalMart or Costco, etc...take their salary, minus SS and Federal tax, and then ADD back into their salary the cost of what they would have had to pay for parking, and the cost of nicer, more professional clothes, dry cleaning those clothes, ditto shoes, etc. In some cases, the folks at WalMart and Costco make more than their office "professional" workers, because they don't have to pay for those other "attachments" of the job.
