by comparison, earthquake repairs in LA were done fairly quickly" LA was different. The country cared and the government was competent. Now, the country cares, but the government is only concerned with how money can be awarded on no-bid contracts to politically connected companies who import workers from third world countries and not pay them. I know you're right........I just have a hard time believing that they are this uncaring. The words of one woman....."we are Americans. Why won't you help us".....is locked into my memory. Its very frustrating to watch and not be able to do anything about it.......at least not directly.
