Yes, the big government conservatives have really cranked up the federal gravy train. Not what they promised in their campaigns, but that's how Washington usually works

C'mon. Both parties, with the dems in the lead, are the ones who have increased pay of the federal sector over the past 20-30 years. The Congress loves it! Their staffers love it!
And each WH staff has loved it!

Inflation, price increases etc. are directly tied to the federal pay in the DC area. That too, has been going on for decades. Which, in turn, is used to justify further pay and COLA increases. It's a big circle j---!

The WSJ article you posted was deficient in that the writer did not make a worthwhile comparison of sectors, industries etc. to give the reader an honest view of salaries and their distinction between the so-called 'have and have nots' in this country.

The best place to get a job today is anything 'government'.
That includes teaching, law enforcement and the military.
