Hezbollah is a SHIITE organization (not a Sunni one like Hamas is!!!!!!) and is, naturally enough, financed and backed by SHIITE Iran (and the minority ruling party of Syria, who are from a Shiite sect). Peter: Ya gotta know the players before you can understand the game. :-)
