"I do really think Math owes him an apology."

Since you're the person who has called more people liars than anyone else in the Brinker debate, somehow I don't think you're the person I should look to for guidance on that.

"If there was any mistatement in Brimelow's piece it seems to me that Brimelow translated 50% of portfolio cash reserves to mean 50% of a portfolio."

So you're saying Brimelow misquoted him? How do you know this?

50% of anything was for subscribers with aggressive objectives. Brinker had been VERY CONSISTENT about recommending that retired people invest conservatively. For example, the advice that his balanced portfolio was the one that was suitable for people in or near retirement was in EVERY ISSUE.

That was a pretty good post though. I don't disagree with a lot of things you said.

If Brimelow was a good journalist, he would have e-mailed "Ernest" back and set up a phone interview. Maybe he tried. But if I had been in Brimelow's shoes, I would have had a LOT of questions for "Ernest."
