Of course Saddam was something of a concern before the Gulf war. For example there was the Iran Iraq war, and general anti-social behavior by Saddam long before the Gulf war. But many other countries acted badly as well. Iraq under Saddam was a dictatorship ruled by a thug, but such government was and still is common. The point is we had a fairly normal trading relationship with Saddam before the invasion of Kuwait, and there where few people calling for sanctions.

Go back a few posts and read what I quoted.

I made two possible connections between the large volume that you posted and the idea of "a wink and a nod". Neither one is a good connection, but they are better than any other part of your posts. I gave you the benefit of the doubt by assuming you meant one of the two strongest possible (but still incorrect) arguments. If you meant something even weaker and less reasonable that's hardly a strength in your argument.
