i don't think he should take the peak oil statist "solutions" too seriously. it is a law of publishing in America that any gloomy current events book must end with a few rays of hope. the solutions sections of American current event books should be ignored--or in keeping with the peak oil theme, the pages should be ripped out and used for kindling -g-.

Heinz doesn't need to worry about socialists and cawmnists taking over the US just because Richard Heinberg and some tofu-eaters club said so. in the real world, if peak oil is a reality, obviously the La-la land solutions will get thrown out the window and we will just have war and chaos. oh wait, we already have all that -g-.

so what if a few guys make a living peddling peak oil. they are not making much. i kind of feel sorry for them--i borrowed their ideas and made a lot of money. if they had opened a futures acct instead of writing a book, they'd be a lot richer. then they could take Lear jets to their energy conservation meetings, like Larry Davis' wife -g-. i think they do it because they are "true believers", not because they are getting rich from it.
