No Tim, this is a bigger blunder than all of these misguided wars.

Nonsense.

The invasion of Iraq was not only doomed to fail before it began,

The invasion itself succeeded rather easily. I assume you mean the plant to deal with the mess after words. Well even than I have to disagree with you. Even about it being doomed now. Buy less assume for the sake of argument that it was doomed before it started. That still is far from enough to make it reasonable to even talk about this as the worst planned war, let alone the worst military blunder.

was one of so many unfortunate reminders that we murdered millions of innocent Vietnamese civilians

We did no such thing.

Today, you and I can walk down the street in Ho Chi Minh city and be as safe as any New York. That will never be the case in Iraq.

So you can predict the future indefinitely far out from today? Your making a rather silly statement.

Even if we assume all of your negative statements about Iraq are 100% true. Assume that not only won't we succeed but that there was never a chance that we would succeed. Assume that Iraq Baghdad will be tremendously violent for the next half century (I assumed you don't literally mean forever, a half century seems long enough), assume the US gets bogged down in Iraq and winds up losing more soldiers than we lost in Vietnam rather than the tiny fraction that we have so far lost. Assume all of that and more (and they are not really reasonable assumptions) and you still don't get to anything near the worst military disaster in history.
