OT: EC, I have stayed away from your rather amusing political diatribe, but I do feel the need to remind you that the Canadian federal Liberal party has for the last few decades spent much of the time on the conservative side of its normal middle-of-the-road position, reflecting the post-Thatcher/Reagan dominance of conservative thinking in Canada over the last 20 years. It was the Liberal party who engineered the massive decrease in government spending!

That's why the Liberal party is the natural governing party -- because they normally steer straight down the middle without ideological constancy, poaching the most popular ideas from the parties to the left and right and adopting them as part of their platform.

Heck, much of the time the Liberals have been to the right of the Conservatives, especially before the putsch eliminated the former Progressive side of that party.

Anyway, I am too busy to get into a debate about it with you, and this thread is definitely not the right format for this kind of debate, but I wanted to correct the disinformation you are spreading, presumably due to your ideological blinders.

Now back to investing.
