Once the Federal government gives a big batch of money to the state to do the repairs, how do you suggest they force the state to move quickly to hand it out? Sending money through 3 levels of government is a tedious process. Would you support the Federal Government cutting out the State and City officials and set up an office in downtown NO that would have the army corps of engineers making the decisions and handing out the money, or do you think the present system of State and city permits and investigations is better? I don't understand why they didn't start and bury all the cables so that electricity and everything was no longer able to be damaged by hurricanes.

MY country squanders 2 billion a WEEK on a pointless war in Iraq?

How much of that 2 billion goes to paying American soldiers' salaries, buying services and supplies from American companies and other expenditures that contribute to the US economy? I'm not trying to say Iraq is inexpensive, but some of the so-called costs (such as the pay of the 140k servicemen over there) would be paid anyway. Just something to think about.
