They did.

They did no such thing. They where crushed and rolled up in short order.

Also you dropped off part of my statement. The full statement is -
"For Iraq to be as bad, Saddam's forces would have had to have inflicted an outright military defeat of the American invasion, followed by a successful invasion of the US."
