many say israel bombing lebanon and killing 1000 was disproportionate to kidnapping of 2 israeli soldiers - whom israel has not succeeded in getting released. many say israel killing a hundred million arabs or hundreds of millions of muslims would be disproportionate to save, limit, retaliate for killing of millions of jews. many can be wrong. If it were their son who was kidnapped, would they say, no don't try to get him back, I don't want a fuss? If it was their country, and their countrymen constant threatened, and now threatened with destruction, would they say, do not prepare to fight back. Better we die, than others who hate us. The Muslim world must prepare for the response to the actions of Muslims. They must accept that many Muslims tread the path of War, and war does not discriminate, people die in wars, fighters and civilians. Always people die. If Iran decides to increase the stakes, Muslims must be prepared to accept that as in poker sometimes when you raise the stakes you lose. Muslims must understand that the increasing frequency of muslim attacks and the arrest of young Muslims will affect every Muslim on earth in some way. Every Muslim is stained by the murderous acts of a few, just as every Catholic Priest was stained by the actions of a few sick members. and every white person was stained by the slavery in the United states a century ago. Most white people did not own slaves, and most white people supported ending slavery, but all white people live with it's effects. So too, will all Muslims be stained by what a few do now. It is a shame that Moderate Muslims did not speak out, before we got to this point.

Besides where does it say a defensive response (precipitated by an aggressor) should be proportionate? To hell with proportionate responses, particularly under the chronic reality of islamist terrorism.
