I'm writing a story about the recent increase in the number of pump and dump scams as a result of the proliferation of spam e-mails which tout penny stocks. I was wondering if anyone at siliconinvestor knew of an investor who had attempted to 'cash in' on such a scam by buying touted stock early in the cycle and getting out quickly ie. an investor attempting to ride the 'pump and dump' wave set up by the spammers but not involved with the scam per se.
