Thank you Tim.

I don't like arguing...

I never thought that there were millions.. If I sounded as though I agreed with that figure it was not intended. I know
that reading these O'Brien books has resurrected a lot of what I felt about Nam and I am finished after this book. He does write well, descriptions take you right there on the battle field living with the G.I's.... and it is so real.

I have step brother who has never been the same since his service in Nam. He cannot stand family affairs. Does not want to see children.

I was going to send him the first book by O Brian... THE THINGS THEY CARRIED but then felt better not to. Who knows what demons he has facing him and it may do to him what it has done to me. Brings it all back and the stupidity of it all.
So many dead, so many maimed and they as the Vets of WWII are getting older and dying and a new generation is paying the same debt.
