Do you ever look for formations .. like inverted H&S in the indicators

Not often, but they're sometimes useful. I probably look at OBV more so than other indicators in that respect.

I think that in any trend/oscillator system one must look for higher bottoms or lower tops in the oscillator to get a decent indication of a trend change, so the only reason why I might like a H&S better than simply a higher bottom or lower top is that the H&S shows more consistent periodicity.
