Agree for the most part... but I wouldn't dismiss Ahmadinejad and the "mahdists" so quickly - one day they may "test" a nuke, and the history of world will change forever. I also thought that Iran and hizballah miscalculated when they attacked israel, and that all they'll get for their trouble will be 15K of peacekeepers as a thorn in their side... but it's seldom a mistake not to take UN and their forces too seriously. It can be that they will be less effective in disarming hizballah then in serving as an impediment to the Israelis - if they have to fight again.

OIH - the decline was choppy so far... it actually looks more like a bullish consolidation. But it also may prove to be one of those multi-headed (or multi-shouldered -g) reversal formations. Looks like the support at 130 could be pretty important.

Oil below 65 ... yes I see no reason why it should be so high. Oil inventories are at multi year highs. Oil Sands are coming online. Fischer Tropsch is being recognized and implemented. It will just take a while to build the refractories to convert Heavy Crude to Light and Coal to Liquid.

The only reason OIH is up today is because the crude volatility of range has subsided. We're still swimming in Crude. The Day the Delivery Rate drops off there will be no place to store it all. They'll have to leave it sit off shore in the Tankers.

Global interest rates have been on the rise to stem growth world wide. These hikes will have an impact at some point.

Plus it's Friday and no one wants to be short oil or oil service over a weekend especially a long weekend. Attribute some of it to short covering. The fundymentals of the Sector has not changed. Crude has stabilized a bit.

That said even some of the more reliable candle patterns are not working ... like the ...

Upside Gap 2 Crows 'With' confirmation. The EWZ still successfully tackled the 144 today.

So far that's a Morning Star on the OIH. See if it can Crack and Hold the horizontal and the 13ema for the close.
