Democrats are very competent at running government.
Did you miss the 90's? Clinton took a huge bloated deficit-spending government and turned it into a lean mean surplus-producing machine. Clinton took out a dangerous dictator without a single US casualty. He also respionded to hurricanes on time and got things done. Finally, he was bi-partisan and listened to and even sometimes adopted Republican opinions and ideas.
