You are correct about the broadest money supply measure (Gov no longer reporting)... but it is still available as it is recalculated by a variety of economists from other Gov. input data. But the comment referred to the growth of the federal BUDGET DEFICIT, not to the 'money supply'. (Different things indeed.)
