Ahhh I didn't realise you were Jewish. I am not although it has been said that one of our relations was. He was very much in favour of Hitler in the early days, his sisters were in Germany and had good things to say about him at first. He died near the end of the war, after his family had all stopped writing. I understand when the letters stopped it meant that the person was dead, although I don't understand how the letters got to Switzerland. I do know that packages from Germany in the depression kept him and his kids alive. I never met him, and no one talked of him much, but kids listen, and most of us learned a little here and there from the older kids.
