So if you bought 100 contracts, that means that you could have exercised each contract for 100 shares, for a total of 10,000 shares, right? So those 100 options cost you $1,000 and you made about $5,000 in profit? Am I calculating all of this correctly?

Sorry if I'm getting into your details here, but I'm curious. It's been a long time since my finance days and I've never traded options. So I'm curious why people are so willing to gamble on this stuff. Understanding the details helps me figure out what kind of risk is involved.
