All the smart, ethical combat vets oppose Bush now.

Nonsense, there are a huge number of smart ethical combat vets that support the war in Iraq. (I assume you meant support Bush on the war), or who voted for Bush over Gore and/or Kerry and don't regret it (if you mean overall support for Bush.)

For that matter at least McCain, and quite likely Powell and Hagel would support Bush over Gore or Kerry.
