Ted, one of the local radio stations brought up a good point.

When it comes to air pollution, California is going to take matters into its own hands.

And their action is appropriate. The feds have set standards for the country based on average air quality for the nation as a whole. Those standards are great for MPLS which has few pollution days but stink for CA because of CA's peculiar climatic and topographic issues. Furthermore, nearly all of CA's pollution is generated intrastate and does not, for the most part, migrate from some other location like China or NK.

But when it comes to illegal immigration, California says, "Nope! That's the job of the federal government!"

My tax dollars at work ...

Again that's appropriate........look at the interstate commerce acts........states barely have control over their own borders let alone the borders of the US. Illegal immigration policy has to be set on a national basis so that the borders are treated with equanimity throughout the US.

BTW did you see that photo of Travolta kissing some guy? When I lived in LA, there were rumors that he was gay but those are pretty common rumors about most male stars so I didn't pay too much attention, but man, now I have to ask......is the Pope Catholic? lol
