Overblown, because any logical person living in America can easily conclude that his/her life is far more threatened by more mundane threats ranging from random street crime, to unsafe roads/vehicles to even pollution and poor disaster planning. I'm not saying that we should not take terrorism seriously and do our best to prevent attacks. Certainly, I do not want (or anyone I know) to be a victim of terrorism. But the actually magnitude of the threat from terrorism is a lot less than many believe. Money wisely spent to address safety and security should not be overly skewed to terrorism and ignore more lethal and mundane threats.

The cold hard statistical facts are that when you or I or any American wakes up in the morning and goes about our daily business we are thousands of times more likely to be injured or killed from any number of mundane and routine and often preventable threats to our lives (random street crime, unsafe roads/vehicles, etc.). If you're worried about your ongoing daily existence, then worrying about terrorism is misplaced, because that is not the biggest threat to your life, not even close. An irrational fear, because statistically terrorism ranks far far behind many other addressable threats to our lives. Don't be such a dupe for the media/government with their agenda, whatever that might be.
