Red that was a heck of a good post. I think there are two sides of this game. To play your side you have to be good and you are because you are still playing and doing well at that.
For me hoping I find a good story to fall in love with. Looking at asset size in quantity that is cheap in the ground that has the potential to be a mine now or is in production that is the target. Geopolitically safe. Drill proven.
The three I have now not counting GGC have all been a mine at one time in history and they all have the goods in spades.

GGC is my gamble and a potential up and comer. I think their resource calc will be good enough to support the stock and their upcoming assays have the potential to be eye poppers.

<In the 18th century the Mina del Agua mine and surrounding area were one of Mexico’s largest silver producers, generating roughly 10% of the country’s total mineral wealth. The mine was well known for its very high, or ‘bonanza’-type, grades of silver and gold, and historical records from the period refer to several kilograms of silver per tonne and several tens of grams of gold per tonne. Historical documents indicate production was valued in excess of $100 per tonne, when prices were roughly $15/oz for gold and $1/oz for silver. In fact one of these areas at the Cinco Senores shaft was abandoned due to flooding, while in the midst of bonanza-grading ore>

This is a high risk investment ,GGC, but I have held it long term almost 9-10 months and I have had a nice return so it worked for me. I think between the pending assays and the pending the resource calc that the stock will do well.

But I am getting more weary of risk and am doing better choosing value. WGI is still looking good in the contest.<g>

I disagree with that RR. You may be right and then again you may be wrong. John Kaiser completely changed his entire approach to investng in mining stocks based on his analysis that this is a long term secular bull market for base metals. Based on a secodn industrial revolution concept.

I just watched a 1 hour special on India, unbelievable growth in wealth, china goes withourt saying, middle east is loaded with cash and spending one trillion on construction, russia is booming with oil and gas money and Brazil has become a world player.

In addition, is there any doubt Israel or bush will bomb Irans nuclear facilities. Where do you think that will send gold? That will cause the middle east to become a conflagration.

In economics they have a saying: "post hoc ergo proptor hoc". that si therefore becasue of this---it is presented as a fallacy in logic.

Like in all market sectors, there are casino type companies and growth companies that offer you above average odds of performing extremely well in the long term. It is harder to find them than in other sectors, because the resource sector is cyclical by itself. But when in a secular bull market like today, it is easy to make a lot of money stayng long with the tier 1 group of company.
