I suggest you can sell "any day that you want as long as you get your order in before market close" is a problem if there is news out and the stock is halted or not trading.

Well, we sort of use the honor system that people aren't going to try to follow the rules to the letter, but cheat the simulated trading. If someone tries to sell a stock that is halted for the day due to bad news, we'll just refuse the trade and probably deduct a few bucks from their holdings due to slimy maneuvering....
