well the THEORY of cutting taxes to increase revenues is actually correct. The problem is that with the massive bifurcation of wealth we have had in the past 25 years, cutting taxes on the TOP 2% who already spend everything they could possibly dream of, does nothing. It cuts revenues and that is all.

Cutting taxes on the LOWER 50% of wageearners might have some effect. But nobody proposes that, and the few tax alternative programs floating around like the "flat tax" <wink wink> also do nothing to help the low wage earners, because the major tax paid by most earners under 85K is the payroll (ss and medicare) tax. So cutting OTHER TAXES that these people pay, while doing nothing to cut payroll taxes, is worthless.

Well, new leadership coming, not soon enough for me. Republicans are DEAD.
