The logical disconnect is that the US military was sent into Iraq after Al Qaeda attacked us on 9/11 but not into Iraq to fight Al Qaeda; now they are fighting Al Qaeda there but the much bigger threat is a Shiite militia culture that was totally subdued before the US military went into Iraq NOT to fight Al Qaeda.

No wonder this whole thing doesn't make a lot of sense unless you blur all the lines and avoid making any detailed, coherent arguments.
