I'm rotten on reading my e-mail. I get on the net for hrs, but rarely check my mail.

This was interesting. This article showed up on TOD this morning. A few quotes were posted. When people linked later, these quotes had been removed from the original...

"Energy research consultant Daniel Yergin, of Cambridge Energy Research Associates, believes the concerns are widespread.

"Every day," he says, "the head of every major oil company wakes up focusing on how he is going to replace his reserves."

The crisis anticipated by these so-called petro-pessimists is one in which the world returns to the dark ages".

Later, Yergin's name was removed. We all had a good laugh. Yergin a petro-pessimist? Good old $38/barrel Yergin Message 22619720 a pessimist? Like a comment on TOD said, that makes us all alpha-doomers....

Has oil production finally peaked?

With the demand for energy around the world ever increasing, are we edging closer to "peak oil" - and what can be done about it?
