This nation is weary of war, I think. The Republican plan to focus on terror issue during the upcoming Congress session is likely to backfire. Iran will cause havoc in Iraq via proxy They would do so to influence US public opinion against Bush and Republicans. Meanwhile, Bush's rant about the "war on terrorism" would continue to sound very hollow with his inability to do anything effective in the face of 150,000 US troops being tied down in Iraq.

This will convince the independent voters to vote for "A New Direction"
