How much damage did we inflict upon Japan and Germany compared to what was suffered on the US mainland?? Ponder that one..

2) Ratio of military capabilities each had at their disposal.

And you can quote all the statistics you want Neolib.. But remember Stalin once claimed

"A single death is a tragedy; a million deaths is a statistic."

So I think that's one of the reasons the Israelis are doing the same kind of "body count" analysis that you are. They undertook this retaliatory war to send a message.. That if Lebanon continued to harbor this aggressive heavily armed group within its borders, their entire country would pay the price.
