if cisco has a pension plan for all employees it is a recent event. There was no pension plan when I was there from 1996 to 2001.

I've never seen anything in Cisco financial statements about a Pension plan. So I don't believe they have one. However, IBM did have one and they discontinued it. Some people were grandfathered in IBM's plan, but they closed it to new people who weren't already in it.
