Collusion in the stock market is not just wrong and illegal, it does not work, except among MMs.

And even they are not immune from litigation...

Somebody missed their Introduction to Market Mechanics 101 class this morning. Even if you could round up a passel of, say, "forced Chinese Wall $2.00 bid limit orders" ... ... how are ya gonna sell 'em? Not gonna happen in this market, this lifetime. Such hilarity is even more silly than the ol' "call in yer certs" cavalry round-up.

"So for those this may help if everyone puts up a "Chinese Wall" of impenetrable bids all at the same price, all at the same time, all before market open, and not below the last day's trade this is effective. This forces the MM's to bid above."

This sounds like market manipulation to me.

So for those this may help if everyone puts up a "Chinese Wall" of impenetrable bids all at the same price, all at the same time, all before market open

It is called teamwork.

Interesting. I thought it was called "collusion" and very illegal. He's likely off any legal hook, though, since he didn't set a price (unless he did so privately) with a bunch of people saying they'd join in. Then they'd all be on the hook.

Edit: I see I'm not the first one to recognize the mislabeling of the practice.
