I've been wondering what has changed over the last 50 years that has led to the disproportionate increase in salaries for corporate heads and upper mgmt.

Sure beats me. Maybe there's some economic principle that a Fortune 500 executive should make as much as an entertainment star or a professional athlete.

Hmmmm........and thats pertinent to the conversation why?

Oh wait, you're throwing out a straw man.....now I get it. Sorry, but my interest has to do with why the salaries of upper mgmt are growing at a faster clip than the people who do the heavy lifting for them. I am sure someone else will be glad to talk to you about any disparities that exist between the salaries of CEOs and the salaries of athletes. I would be willing to discuss the issue with you were it not for the fact that the problems of the rich and famous are not where my head is at. So sorry.
