Well they are drilling in the Carlin trend next on their Anchor property which they jv'd from someone else- They also have several highly propective properties in the lesser known Walker trend- I was down there on the Walker trend property where previous mining had been down early in the century -

Golden Odyssey to drill Anchor property in Nevada

2006-08-30 10:13 ET - News Release

Mr. Jeffrey Wilson reports

GOLDEN ODYSSEY RECEIVES 43-101 REPORT RECOMMENDING SIGNIFICANT DRILLING ON ITS ANCHOR PROPERTY, CORTEZ TREND, NEVADA

Golden Odyssey Mining Inc. has received a National Instrument 43-101 report on its Anchor property, which is located on the Cortez trend approximately three miles northwest of Barrick Gold's Archimedes deposit. The report, dated July 6, 2006, is authored by Richard Kehmeier, MSc, CPG, who concludes that the project, "Exhibits multiple characteristics of numerous sediment-hosted gold deposits within the Battle Mountain-Eureka trend." Mr. Kehmeier further states, "Similar occurrences include the deposits in the Rain district approximately 75 miles north of the Anchor project and the Archimedes deposit about three miles southeast of the project area."

The report recommends a two-phase drilling program with the initial phase consisting of approximately 8,000 feet of reverse-circulation drilling scheduled for October or November of this year. The first phase of drilling is intended as an initial test of the targets identified by the data synthesis and interpretation. A second phase, if warranted, will consist of significant drilling to offset and further define the targets.

The project is located 240 miles east of Reno, Nev., and is in that portion of the Battle Mountain-Eureka trend now being referred to as the Cortez trend. The Cortez trend is one of the most active and highly prospective areas of Nevada. The Battle Mountain-Eureka trend extends for more than 150 miles through northeastern Nevada. It has a currently defined mineral legacy (past production and current reserves) in excess of 35 million ounces of gold. Existing multimillion-ounce mines include Pipeline and Archimedes (Barrick Gold) and Lone Tree (Newmont). The recent Cortez Hills discovery (Barrick Gold) is reported to have in excess of seven million ounces of proven and probable reserves.

"The start of exploration at the Anchor project is another very important milestone in our ongoing, aggressive program," states David Shaddrick, president and chief executive officer. "Anchor is a perfect fit for our business plan of exploring for world-class deposits in the most prospective areas of Nevada."

The Anchor property consists of 56 unpatented mining claims totalling approximately 1,120 acres. The property was actively explored in the 1980s and 1990s by several major companies including Rio Algom, Kennecott and Western Mining. It is the extensive database developed by these companies that has allowed Golden Odyssey to identify the current targets.
