Yes, the dreadful human rights abuses in Asia are exactly what we should be willing to confront and eliminate. Unfortunately our effectiveness is severely hampered when we have people, like some on these threads and others in positions of power such as the White House, who promote the right of the USA to finance war criminals and to commit torture. When we have shown our resolve at home then we can show our resolve to be global leaders instead of global bullies.

Coddling our own war criminals and going to great lengths to excuse them is not going to do anything but undermine human rights in Asia and the rest of the world.
