Bush's 2000 campaign promises were 90% deliberate lies. Once in power (cheating to get there) he shrugged off all his "compassionate conservative" BS and took a hard right turn into neocon land. Bush's first priorities were the following: - Build up SDI (a huge waste of money to this day) - Let energy gougers gouge to their heart's content (done) - Make an oil deal with Libya (done, calling it disarmament which was also a lie) - Tax cuts for the richest (done) - Deregulation of polluters (done) - Scrap the Kyoto Treaty and all environmental treaties (for the pollution lobby, done) And not once in 9 months did he ever mention terrorism or lift a finger against Al Qaida despite the fact the USS Cole attack happened shortly before he took power. In fact, Bush scrapped Clinton's entire counter-terror force and didn't replace it.
