NO, I would not have called for an end to WWII -- but I would have asked those who targeted tens of thousands of civilians for mass murder to be put on trial.

And you would have been arrested for sedition.

I believe the Sedition act of 1918 was still in effect during WWII..

Btw, did you know that 2,000 people protesters against US participation in WWI were prosecuted under the Sedition act?

The woman and children we targeted and slaughtered with fire bombing never had even this small shred of dignity shown to them.

Sorry... That's the nature of war.. The winners write the history books, and they conduct the war crimes trials.

And I'm not going to apologize for the Allies having won.

The killing of Jews resulted in trials for at least some of those less-than-human perpetrators of Nazi mass murder. No doubt these trials were small consolation to the families whose loved ones were slaughtered -- but at least it was a sign that the world cared about justice for those who had been murdered. The woman and children we targeted and slaughtered with fire bombing never had even this small shred of dignity shown to them.

You are out of your mind with PC foolishness. There was a decision taken to make the war in Germany seem so bad that no one would continue to fight. It worked. The same thing with japan, although I suspect the "new toy" had something to do with it. As for the women and children who died. Americans saved the German people. When Russia was exacting horrible vengeance, Americans helped. Sometimes a decision is taken in war that seems logical at the time, and 60 years later seems barbaric. When the decision to bomb Germany was made, Britain had been smashed by bombs from Germany, and as I recall France had suffered from Allied attacks as well. people just wanted the war to be over, so should they have not bombed that way, and had the war continue or made a decision to get it over with.
