Under the laws of the time it was not a war crime. Even under the laws today it was not a war crime. Sometimes Governments make decisions, sometimes in the light of time they seem wrong. Sometimes at the time they seem wrong, but in time turn out to be right. We are stuck, how many missiles should israel allowed Hizbollah to aim at israel? Should Israel give Lebanon territory claimed by Syria, Should israel give Syria territory claimed by Lebanon? Should the UN be sitting by and watching Lebanese Citizens commit acts of aggression against Israel without trying somehow to stop them? In your determination to assign blame to Israel, you are not addressing important questions. particularly The act of war, and Israel could have declared war on Lebanon for the kidnapping of Israeli Soldiers. Remember that was was not declared in order to shore up Sinoria's government. Israel had the right to declare war on Lebanon, once Hizbollah attacked Israeli soldiers.
