Ichy, the US has history filled with human rights abuses; can you shed some light on the subject? Since you hate Muslims so much and discriminate against them, what does your hatred makes you?

Now that Saruman has walked away from answering, what do you think of this kind of thing?

I don't expect people to stay glued to SI to answer my posts.

What do I think? I think most of those countries are friends of the US, hence we [the US government] don't much care what they do to their own people. It's a pretty sad state of affairs.

Some countries are worse than others. [See the tier ratings for 2006.] If I wanted to reshape the mideast into a more tolerant region, I'd hit on the more tolerant countries to be more moderate and work on the worst ones to moderate their worst practices.

All religions allow for tolerance and all religions allow for brutality. It depends on what chapter and verse you read and how you interpret it. It's down to the people in power. The US has very little if any problems with Muslims. They are fairly well off economically and fairly well integrated into society. In those other countries you have wide gaps between rich and poor, with the poor treated like dung. That makes them whine so you control them by nationalism, religion, or brutality.

When you attack a religion, you attack the core values of all the people that practice that religion. You turn moderates into fanatics.
